I have a really exciting project on the go and am looking for a director of photography to complete the team. The song is “Breath” and the concept of the video involves a solo dance performance by Shevelle Dynott. Shevelle recently left the National Ballet after touring the world for fifteen years and this will be his first independent choreography. He was also featured in an exhibition of influential Black Britons by Simon Frederick in the National Gallery, Black is the New Black.
We are thrilled to have on board the brilliant Stefan Georgiou as director, and we are very close to confirming an amazing old theatre for the location. The idea and the storyboard are there and we are just are looking for the right cinematographer to bring the narrative and the dance to life.
This is a passion project and we are crowdfunding and calling in many favours to make it happen. It is going to be a beautiful piece that unites the different media of film, theatre, dance and music to express how we as artists have a voice to tackle structural racism and oppression of all kinds. The vision of the empty theatre highlights the plight of all the arts industries after a year of lockdown. Here are some test shots from our rehearsals…sadly our previous D.O.P. had to leave the project so we are looking for someone new. If this sounds like you then please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are all working for free to realise this vision.
